Farmhouse Friday

Welcome to Farmhouse Friday here at Woodwater Farmhouse. Glad you stopped by.  I am sharing some highlights from the last few weeks.

I turned 50 in late February and celebrated with my BFF and her boys, They came down for the weekend (2.5 hr drive) and we had a blast, as we always do!

It was also two of her boys' birthdays!  Triple threat!

The weather has been up and down. One day nice and we get out and hike and the next 2 feet of snow. We take advantage of it when we can.

Molly has been crafting a lot and making these beautiful paper flowers.

I finished my first book of the new year!!! Which is a big deal since in 2017 I never finished one 8(   I have the next one on order from the same author.

Kids finally got to go skiing with my hubby and last weekend. WIN!

My oldest and his family here for the night, since they lost power.  Always a treat when I can spend time with them.

Seeing Margaux in the snow was such a treat. Grandbabies are the best!

March kicked off Read Across America and Dr. Seuss month and it's always been a part of our homeschool routine in March as far back as I can remember.

Lots of night time fires the past few weeks. We are almost out of cut wood and a log spliter is on our list to purchase since we have a TON of "free" wood out there on the mountain.

Lilly seems to think she owns the fire each night. I let her stay up there for 10 seconds and make her get down, she is not happy about it, but I don't think it's all to safe.

This week we had a MAJOR snow storm dumping two feet on us. Took us two days to dig out from under it. Pretty, but needs to be respected for sure!

We are plugging along with our studies and playing outside. Continuing with our outside sports classes. Hard to believe spring soccer starts up next month!

I am starting to gather my information on camping for this year. We are trying some new places with our new 5th wheel!

Whatcha been up to?

National Chocolate Chip Day

May 15, 2012 is National Chocolate Chip Day Today is National Chocolate Chip Day! Chocolate chips are an essential ingredient in dozens of delicious baked goods—chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chip pancakes, chocolate chip muffins, chocolate chip brownies, chocolate chip bagels, and many more. You can even find chili recipes that call for these sweet morsels! In the 1930s, Ruth Graves Wakefield created the original chocolate chip cookie at her Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts. Ruth intended to bake chocolate cookies for her guests, but she ran out of baker’s chocolate. She substituted with chopped up semi-sweet chocolate morsels and discovered that the pieces did not melt into the dough as she expected. Her cookies were an instant hit. Today, 25% of all the cookies baked in the United States are chocolate chip! To celebrate National Chocolate Chip Day, pick up a bag of chocolate chips at the supermarket and bake something yummy to share with friends and cowor
