Woodwater Farmhouse

So part of our schooling today on Day 2 was a trip to our local Farmers Market. Such great finds today! First let me say we are doing a Unit on Dogs with our lapbook. We stopped at the library and the kids signed out 10 books having to do with Dogs (they also got a movie Underdog!) Then we headed over to the market. We stopped at the baked goods table where the kids were awarded a free sample..YUMMO so they say! Oh and also on the way into the market we came across a man who was walking his dog. Happened to my favorite breed...the Great Dane. Her name is Sadie and she is a beautiful Fawn color. The kids asked questions and petted the dog. It was great! Then over to the veggie table...oh what a treat we got there. We are having a Labor Day bbq and I bought most of my fresh veggies there1 Then a trip to the Alpaca Table where we learned about how they arrived at this beautiful yarn from the Alpacas. The woman was friendly and very informative. Actually they are even having a Farm day...

Today was our 1st day of the new school year (full time)...We started at 9 am (EST) and just ended at 2:50 pm. I thought it might be too much for them being preK and 1st/2nd grade but they did great...broke up the day with outside nature time and playtime. Kids had a great time and so did I. So nice not having them fight or ask for TV! Here was our schedule: Prayers - start at 9:00 am Thought of the day...talk about it(today was do you like Banana sundaes or ice cream sandwiches? Why did you pick what you picked? Letter of the Week "A" - practice and journal write Snack Break w/ music Math Outside for 30 mins nature time Inside for lunch computer time Reading Art Social Studies End at 2:50 pm Here are some pictures:

One would think that after a week of caring for my home, my three little blessings, all the dr appts, errands, shopping, appts and more that I would welcome a day to just sit back and put my feet up - so why can't I? I can never seem to just put my feet up and breathe. Is it because I want to "do it all", "have it all", have the perfect home, place for my kids....OR is it because I really don't know how to relax? I think it's a little of both. I am always trying to please others and make sure that everyone else is happy and taken care of, I really never look in the mirror and ask myself, What have you done for Melissa lately?" I have not been to the gym in almost 2 months (sick for a long time and now just lazy)! I do find time a few times a month to meet girlfriends out for a ladies night out. But how wonderful would it be that I could sit in my own home, on my deck, in the bath or even on the potty for that matter...without being interrupted f...

TGIF! I am glad the weather has turned here for the better in NY. We had so much rain our backyard was looking like a lake! The grass is real green now that is for sure. Sleeping was great last night with the full moon shinning on the deck and the coolness in the air. This weekend we are doing some outside stuff that has been neglected and getting ready for the Fall here, which by far, is my favorite time of year in NY! It's the little things I guess that make me feel like it's my birthday or something...I got my Well Planned day planner today in the mail with a free copy of Home Educating Family magazine. I can't wait to get the planner all ready for schooL!

Are you familiar with Teacher Book Bag? I found them on Curcclick's website. I just downloaded FREE Lapbook on Johnny Appleseed and free Bulletin board cut outs for Harvest time. I love the FREE stuff! So today it's still rainy here in NY 8( The kids are going stir crazy! We had a playdate today and the kids were just off the wall! Time to get ready for bed...Tomorrow is Cleaning day!

On a lighter note....Happy Anniversary (7 years) to my hubby! Had Molly's 1st GI Specialist appt today. Did not learn anything that I did not already know and of course had to wait an hour to find that out 8( Trying a few new things, please pray for her that we can get her "issues" under control soon. Hey did you grab my button yet?

Molly has an appt with a peds GI dr tomorrow for her "holding" issue. Giving her an enema every other day is not fun for anyone. I am hoping she actually finds something wrong internally so we can get it fixed, otherwise, I am afraid "it's all in her head" as far as the pain goes. Pray for her please! Tomorrow is also my mine and my husbands 7 year wedding anniversary! So happy we have had such a great 7 (10 together) years together! I love ya honey! XOXO
