Mother's Homeschool Journal Week 10

The Homeschool Chick

In my life this week: I missed last week due to the death of my FIL, so I think we are on week 10?   It's been a hectic week trying to get back into the swing of things and supporting the hubby with his grief.   Trying to "put myself back onthe list" is something that is the back of my mind. Also getting the finishing touches on Molly's 4th Birthday party (in a week!) Weight Watchers, back on track!  Last week I did not do too well with all that was happening.

In our homeschool this week: We have been continuing our Seuss studies. Finishing up this unit today with our Dr Seuss Party!

Places we're going and people we're seeing: We went nowhere this week!  Primarily due to our less than Spring like weather!

My favorite thing this week:  we had friends over for a Welcome Spring BBQ last weekend.....and now we have snow again...lol

What's working/not working for us: things are going well in school.

Homeschool Questions/Thoughts I Have:  Zachary asked me if he can go to a collage where he lives at home still and goes each day to collage...lol..I told him that he might change his tune later on!

Photo to share.....Molly at the Spring BBQ last weekend!

Thanks for sharing a part of your week with us on NOBH! I hope your family is healing after the loss of your FIL. Cute picture of your little girl!
Blessings to your family. Especially after the loss of FIL. I am new to THMJ. Love to hear about all the activities mothers get involved with in homeschooling. We just read a Dr. Seuss book at our co-op too.

National Chocolate Chip Day

May 15, 2012 is National Chocolate Chip Day Today is National Chocolate Chip Day! Chocolate chips are an essential ingredient in dozens of delicious baked goods—chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chip pancakes, chocolate chip muffins, chocolate chip brownies, chocolate chip bagels, and many more. You can even find chili recipes that call for these sweet morsels! In the 1930s, Ruth Graves Wakefield created the original chocolate chip cookie at her Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts. Ruth intended to bake chocolate cookies for her guests, but she ran out of baker’s chocolate. She substituted with chopped up semi-sweet chocolate morsels and discovered that the pieces did not melt into the dough as she expected. Her cookies were an instant hit. Today, 25% of all the cookies baked in the United States are chocolate chip! To celebrate National Chocolate Chip Day, pick up a bag of chocolate chips at the supermarket and bake something yummy to share with friends and cowor
